Introducing Continental Atlas!

We're pleased to meet you!
Continental Atlas started as an effort by Elijah Robison to more easily research property data in Arkansas' Buffalo River region.
Oftentimes, real estate listings on platforms like Zillow are unable to accurately locate properties in rural areas. Sometimes we can solve this problem ourselves by cross-referencing properties using web apps published by county governments, but most of the counties in the Buffalo River area of Arkansas don't currently provide these services. Because the Arkansas GIS Office makes the state's county parcel data available for free download, it was still possible to download the data and query information from real estate listings using GIS software, like QGIS. But that work-around is bulky and requires training that excludes many people. So Elijah wondered, "does this challenge represent a business opportunity?"
Enabled by more than 15-years of experience developing GIS software solutions, including considerable expertise in the area of Internet mapping, Elijah downloaded parcel data for Arkansas counties intersecting the Buffalo River watershed and proceeded to create a web mapping solution to more easily search and review property data in the area. And it's our opinion that this effort resulted in one of the most streamlined, interactive, and user-friendly property mapping solutions on the market. Even better, because our application is not built upon cost-prohibitive software from incumbent providers like Microsoft and ESRI, our solutions are particularly suitable for budget-conscious organizations, like local governments in rural areas.
With that said, we're excited to introduce ourselves and showcase our potential by presenting ourBuffalo River Arkansas Property Data project. Presently, this project serves property data for nine counties. If your organization has a need for Internet mapping solutions, or any other custom GIS development work, we'd love to hear from you!
Continental Atlas specializes in GIS consulting services, focusing on creating web-based mapping applications tailored to the unique needs of local governments, businesses, and organizations with a need to visually link "the what" to "the where". With additional expertise creating custom ArcGIS extensions, QGIS Plugins, and other integrated mapping resources for the enterprise, we are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions, and we're confident in our ability to meet your needs.
